Individual

Counseling

In one-on-one counseling, you and I will meet to discuss what you're struggling with and work through it together. Our sessions will be focused on meeting your personal goals, and I will share my insight and expertise to teach and coach you as we go forward. Some topics we can explore in individual counseling include:

  • Anxiety counseling

  • Self-esteem issues

  • Relationship related issues

  • Family of origin issues

  • Stress management

  • Identity issues

  • Mental health checkup

  • Self-care

I practice person-centered therapy which values authenticity, genuineness, and empathy in my work with clients. This means that as a counselor, I will be real with you - there's no pretense, no hoops for you to jump through, and that every hard part of personal growth and change that I recommend to you will not be something I would not do myself. You'll be treated with kindness and respect in therapy because I'm just a person too. One who is real, kind, and trained to help.

I have advanced post-graduate training in Emotion Focused Therapy, which is the primary approach to healing I use with clients. From this model, we examine together the internal and external patterns that impact how you relate to and engage with yourself and others. Once we understand the how and why of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, you are free to make empowered choices to create the change you're hoping to see in your life.

I do anxiety counseling, self-esteem counseling, identity counseling, family of origin counseling, and more, but what they all have in common is a focus on you. I see the person in the room as the most important factor, so we will honor everything you've been through, affirm your individual strengths, and bring attention to your potential for growth moving forward. Our goals for the outcome of your therapy will be collaborative - we will grow in the direction you want to go, and I will offer my professional insights to help you move toward balance and personal growth.

If you're looking for a female therapist in the Seattle area to help you move forward in an authentic and brave way, I might be the right fit. If you have more questions about me or my approach, let's chat! We can figure it out together.
